KICNYS / NYKE Happi go-Rokki Pet Rok Workshop

Saturday, March 22nd
10:00 - 5:00

Stone Quarry Hill Art Park - Directions
3883 Stone Quarry Road
Cazenovia, New York 13035

Join in the third kite building workshop of the 07-08 building season.

KICNYS and NYKE are proud to present a kite building workshop lead by Thom Shanken.

Materials provided, but it would be helpful to bring scissors, straight edge, pencil.

Rok will be under 1 meter tall.  Sail will be Kozo Washi paper.

The sail (which is just about as strong as paper money) will be decorated using "shibori" dye techniques applied to paper. The paper will also be made waterproof with a micro-crystalline wax application. The "softer" sail, bridle design and bow tensioning will all be fashioned to bring this smaller Rok into the realm of the slower performance characteristics of its bigger brothers and sisters (as opposed to an Indian fighter).

Feel free to "keep things in the spirit" by wearing a Happi Coat, headband, or creative imitation.

The admission cost for the workshop is $25 - All Materials Included.

So what do you need to reserve your spot? Register with the online form below!  This workshop is limited to 15 participants, register now to get your seat!  Don't miss out on the opportunity to learn from this master kite builder and add a truly unique kite to your collection!  Side note- payment will be due upon arrival at the workshop, no need to pay in advance - no shows will be billed.
